The Role

Cameco has a great opportunity available for an enthusiastic, motivated professional to be a part of a diverse procurement team. You will be responsible for supporting all of Cameco’s Canadian operations on a temporary full-time basis.

In this role, you will:

  • Source a range of materials, equipment and services and interact closely with internal and external stakeholders

  • Contribute to value creation from procurement activities, acting as a service provider to our partners at our Canadian operations, as well as participate in the continuous improvement of our processes and procedures

  • Source best overall value to meet internal customer needs, generate and expedite purchase orders in an SAP environment, develop and execute contracts, and manage vendor on-time delivery

  • Conduct request for quotation (RFQ) and request for proposals (RFP) as needed

  • Identify and resolve blocked invoices to ensure efficiency in the procure-to-pay process

  • Assist in onboarding new suppliers and maintaining supplier databases

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, procurement policies and regulatory requirements

  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements

Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or a related field

  • Up to three years of experience in the supply chain management procurement field

  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills

Recommended:

  • Previous SAP experience
