Overview of Position:
Cobra Mechanical Ltd. requires level 3-4 Apprentice plumbers. Candidates must be able to provide support for their supervisor and other staff, deliver high-quality service, and show they are willing to learn new concepts. As an apprentice, the incumbent will gain the opportunity to learn valuable knowledge under our employment. Experience gained will include working with commercial and industrial plumbing ensuring all installations are installed to code.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist journeymen with day-to-day tasks.
- Solder, thread, glue, all different materials of pipe
- Follow instructions to and assist the supervisor with each project.
- Acquire any necessary supplies as per the supervisor’s instruction.
- Clean and maintain shop facilities and equipment.
- Perform other related work as required and assigned.
- Complete minor maintenance and repair work.
- Advise supervisor of work that must be completed, where the assistant is not qualified to perform said duty.
- Gather all supplies and tools at the end of the day and ensure that they are put away in a safe and accessible place.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Appropriate credentials and certifications for 3rd or 4th level plumbing apprentice.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
Other Qualifications:
- Proven abilities, and strong organization skills in completing the task assigned.
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and basic power tools.
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
Work conditions:
Travel Apprentices are working primarily on the road within Manitoba and surrounding provinces but some work onsite at our Beausejour location may be needed during slow periods. Ability to lift 50+ lbs, required safety equipment, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise, irregular hours, overtime as required.

Tyler Prevost founded Cobra Construction in 2009 as a general contracting company. In 2015, Prevost teamed up with his brother Shane and expanded the company by opening Cobra Structures, a second division to effectively serve customers with building solutions in a variety of industries.
