SCOPE OF POSITION

We are looking to add a Senior FP&A Analyst to our Finance team in Burnaby, BC. This is a high-profile, senior, individual contributor role. The successful candidate will be a creative and process-minded self-starter who is comfortable collaborating directly with all members of the Finance team and executive leadership.

The Senior FP&A Analyst will develop and maintain tools and processes to perform financial planning and analysis, and analysis and deliver insights to support the group’s strategic and operational goals. This role will ensure alignment of financial planning processes across all entities, deliver consolidated financial reporting, and drive performance improvement through data-driven decision-making.

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Strategic Financial Planning

  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes across all entities, ensuring alignment with group objectives.

  • Work closely with entity-level finance teams to gather, consolidate, and analyze financial data and deliver actionable insights.

Process Optimization

  • Drive the standardization and automation of financial planning and reporting processes across entities.

  • Implement tools and systems to enhance data collection, reporting accuracy, and scenario analysis.

  • Ensure consistent application of financial policies, procedures, and controls across all entities

  • Co-lead to the development and implementation of FP&A software and/or other technology and tool initiatives.

  • Lead or support ad hoc projects, such as cashflows management tools and AI initiatives.

Performance Management

  • Design and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at the group level to track and improve financial and operational performance.

  • Monitor actual performance versus budget/forecast, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Financial and Management Reporting

  • Prepare and deliver consolidated financial reports for the group, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clarity.

  • Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure alignment between management reporting and statutory reporting.

  • Support the development and refinement of cost accounting methodologies.

  • In partnership with our BI Team, create dashboards and visualizations to present financial data effectively to stakeholders.

Business Partnering

  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, COO, CFO, Directors of Finance and other members of the leadership team by leading core finance-function activities such as budgeting and forecasting and group reporting.

  • Support key business initiatives, such as cost optimization, pricing strategies, and capital allocation decisions.

  • Collaborate with finance and operational teams to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost efficiency.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or related field is preferred.

  • A professional certification such as CFA or CPA is desired.

Experienced Requirements

  • 6–8 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or a similar role, with experience in a group or multi-entity structure.

  • Track record of managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.

  • Track record of process development and process improvement.

  • Experience with cost accounting methodologies.

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
