About the role
You enhance spaces to create inspired environments that combine aesthetics, functionality, and quality. Based in our Vancouver office, with regular travel to project sites and occasional visits to the Langley corporate office, you will report directly to the Vice President, Interior Design and Senior Vice President, Developments.
You are highly collaborative and will work on a focused asset class of Seniors Housing , as well as some small opportunities within the market condominiums, rental apartments, hotels, and commercial spaces. You are very comfortable executing all aspects of interior design for a project with occasional support from your department head. You also feel comfortable and are highly confident in liaising as the Interior design project lead with other departments, consultants and project investors during the design development, coordination and construction phases. You have experience and a high level of work autonomy during the design development process, creating visions, pulling materials, and presenting them to your peers and company stake holders.

Key areas of focus
- Assist in defining the product and provide recommendations on key themes, memory points and amenities.
- Work directly with the VP, Interior Design to ensure department work aligns with our company and stake holders vision and aesthetics.
- Review, markup and optimize space plans for units, amenities and presentation centers including specialty ‘pop-up’ spaces – mentored by VP, Interior Design
- Develop interior specifications for units and amenities – mentored by VP, Interior Design
- Responsible for executing the day-to-day interior design-oriented activities of development projects as assigned.
- Very comfortable in the development of construction document packages and selecting specifications for all product types, including, conducting market research to determine established standards within specific markets, specifying finishes, plumbing, lighting, and appliance packages within established budgets and negotiating and securing costs from suppliers.
- Work closely with stake holders to develop engaging and successful interior environments which fit the senior living real estate goals.
- Experience designing: Condominium, rental units and large expanse of common areas.
- Lead coordination with Development and Construction teams to ensure drawings are up to date and being executed as per design intent through entire construction administration and build phase.
- Very comfortable in creating the visualization of conceptual designs for internal review.
- Ability to update date drawings independently and well as manage an ID technician.
About You
- You are a talented, creative, and energetic professional with passion for Interior Design
- You have accumulated at least 5-7 years of industry experience executing projects from initial concept through construction and delivery.
- Experience in designing for Senior living is a strong asset
- A great ‘team player with no ego’ describes you best, thriving in a high-performance environment, working collaboratively with both internal and external colleagues.

- You have strong experience of construction administration processes.

- You have an Interior Design degree with a focus on technical production work (an asset)
- You are proficient with AutoCAD and create drawing sets with ease
- You may also have some experience with other design and drafting tools such as Sketchup, Photoshop, 3D
- Your Efficiency with Microsoft Office suite: Word and Excel are a must
- Access to a vehicle important for site visits
