Senior Financial Analyst, Global Channels and Streaming
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) to support the Global Channels & Streaming business at a corporate finance level and the growing global business internationally.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in month, quarter, and year end activities for the Global Channels & Streaming business with corporate finance headquartered in Toronto, and for analytical and business tasks as needed with the Global Channels & Streaming teams working internationally. This individual will report directly to the VP of Finance for Global Channels & Streaming.
This role will report into the VP of Finance for Global Channels & Streaming and is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance at our head office in Toronto for a minimum of three (3) days per week.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Successful candidate would assume responsibility for revenue analysis, working closely with Global Channels regional sales teams in the US, EMEA, APAC, & LATAM. The analyst would also assist these regional Global Channels & Streaming teams to support their ongoing new revenue initiatives.
- Working closely with our Social Digital and YouTube teams, the candidate would manage revenue and costs for this business, and support as we seek to aggressively grow this business for Blue Ant.
- Perform detailed analysis on existing and potential new partners, using break-even and margin analysis to evaluation relationships and working with the VP of Finance to coordinate teams on where to focus our resources.
- All Global Channels production and programming planning, cash flow management and accounting (via NetSuite) will be absorbed over time by the new analyst, in coordination with the Washington commissioning team, and overseen by the VP of Finance.
- Working with the VP of Finance, the SFA will assist in developing and maintaining team specific budgeting and forecasting to ensure high visibility and ownership of results at a regional level for the business.
- Perform month end reviews on cost reports and operating expenses to ensure accuracy and adherence to budget.
- Perform business research and trend analysis on various media related areas to help build decision making and strategy for the team. A key focus will be on the growing AVOD & FAST market in the US and Internationally as Global Channels & Streaming works to grow its presence in this space in the coming fiscal years.
Qualifications and Experience
- One to three years of progressive work experience in finance and/or accounting functions
- Completed of recognized professional accounting designation is preferred. Candidates working towards completion of their CPA will be considered.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work effectively both independently and on a team – you’ll be working closely with the corporate accounting teams in Toronto and abroad, as well as various business operators, including production accountants and network businesses.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written – communicating effectively with teams from different countries and professional backgrounds will be critical to success in this role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy – the results of your work will be supporting major business decisions by operators and executives at the company, so attention to detail is a must.
