Nakiska Winter Sports School Part Time Snowboard Instructor Winter 2025/26
Wage: $21.75/hr for Level 1 qualifications, $27.25/hr for Level 2 qualifications, $29.00/hr for Level 3 qualifications, $32.25/hr for Level 4 qualifications.
Position Overview:
-
To provide guests with a high quality of snowboard instruction. Guests will be of all ages and ability levels and lesson types will vary.

Help to ensure that every guest has a safe, fun & informative experience.
-
Carry out duties and other tasks set out by the Winter Sports School as and when required.
Key Areas of Knowledge:
-
Abide by policy and procedures as outlined in the Nakiska Resort Staff Handbook.
-
Abide by policy and procedures as outlined in the Winter Sports School Orientation Training.
-
Adhere to Nakiska Resort health and safety polices and incident /hazard reporting system.
-
Assisting guests with resort related inquiries.
-
A good knowledge of Canadian snowboard instruction practices (CASI) is preferred, or an equivalent internationally recognized certification.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Be willing to accept all assignments that fit within your level of qualification and position in the Winter Sports School.
-
Consistently present and maintain a neat, clean and tidy appearance and a professional image as outlined in your department manual.
-
Provide a superior level of guest service and mountain safety for all visitors and staff.
-
Delivery of excellent ski &/or snowboard instruction, in accordance with standards established by the Ski & Snowboard School.
-
Provide guidance and feedback in a manner that is supportive, encouraging and helps students/ instructors achieve their goals.
-
Ensure all communication with guests and staff is professional, timely and supports the best interests of Nakiska Resort.

Assist other mountain departments/management with operational or services tasks assigned by your Supervisor/Manager
Key Skills:

Have a strong work ethic with individual and team orientated work

Active listening and effective communication skills
-
Minimum level 1 internationally recognized qualification(s) in ski &/or snowboard instruction.

Have a positive attitude, be punctual, reliable and responsible.

Criminal Record Check with clearance to work with children, dated within the last 12 months

Must be able to make orientation date in Nov/Dec 2025 exact date TBD

Must be able to commit to at least 12 weekend days between January 3, 2026 – March 29, 2026 excluding Family Day Weekend (Feb 14 & 15, 2026)
