Maintenance Mechanic - PTG - Maintenance
About the role
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
REPORTING
The Maintenance Mechanic reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. He or she is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, etc. He or she is responsible for examining mechanical equipment to diagnose problems, disassemble machines and repair or replace broken parts. Preventive maintenance duties will also be a regular occurrence. All duties are expected to be carries out responsibly within company safety policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Check, report, repair any and all equipment failures
- Product handling equipment set-ups and repairs
- Vacuum repairs
- Trouble shooting equipment to component level
- Installing equipment and auxiliary equipment as required
- Repairing of component failure (i.e. Hydraulic pumps, valves, Pneumatic valves)
- Repairing of Tool room equipment
- Disassembly and refurbishing/ rebuilding of equipment
- Responsible for housekeeping in the plant interior and exterior
- Responsible for procedural plant shut-downs and start-ups
- Ability to operate new equipment
- Updating and keeping logs for all new equipment
- Maintaining files for equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Millwright Experience
- Rigging Experience
- Ability to read hydraulic, electrical pneumatic schematics
- Fabrication skills (Lathe & Mill) are an asset
- Working at heights and elevated work platform training is an asset
- Tow Motor (forklift) training and experience is an asset
- Glass manufacturing facility experience is an asset
- 3 to 5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work within a team oriented environment
