Position Overview:
Finning Canada is looking for passionate Journeyperson Electricians (Red Seal preferred) to join our Power Systems team based in Surrey, BC. As the Journeyperson Electrician, your responsibilities include the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of heavy electrical and power generation equipment including: gen-sets, electronic controls, PLCs, HMIs and switchgears.

Job Description:
- Service, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and power generation equipment
- Service and troubleshoot electronic controls, PLCs, HMIs, and electrical switchgear
- Build, construct and test electrical panels
- Load test power generation equipment
- Assist in fulfilling our customer service commitment
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Electrician Certification (Red Seal preferred)
- FSRA or FSRB credential would be considered an asset
- Power Generation experience would be considered an asset
- Generator Rebuild experience would be considered an asset
- Heavy Duty Mechanical experience or certification would be considered an asset
- Team player capable of working with minimal supervision, in challenging conditions
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
Notes:
- Homebase for this position will be Surrey Power Systems, but you may be required to travel to locations throughout British Columbia and Yukon
- This will be a 5x2 shift with a potential to work a 7x7 or 14x14 continuous shift
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
- Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
