About the role
Job Description As Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining security clearances for Davie employees for the Contract Security Program and Controlled Goods Program. You will act as a resource person for all matters relating to security programs and provide active support to the Industrial Security Program Administrator.
More Specifically, You Will
- Manage personnel security assessments for the Contract Security Program and Controlled Goods Program, from file creation to accreditation and regulatory updates, including gathering relevant information from employees to ensure forms are properly completed.
- Assist employees in applying for police certificates and foreign assessments, as required.
- Follow up with the government for any information, questions, additional documents required, or other requests.
- Assist the Human Resources Department in interpreting of the results of pre-employment screenings of candidates related to obtaining the security clearance required by the Contract Security Program.
- Support the Industrial Security Program Administrator in her role as a resource person for Davie subcontractors, as well as any other tasks related to government contract access.
- Act as a resource person to inform those involved in government contracts about employee accreditations on both federal programs.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards related to the Contract Security Program and Controlled Goods Program.
- Support employees in complying with various procedures (movement of controlled goods, secure area entry management, etc.).
- Assist the access card office in carrying out tasks related to the access control system.
Qualifications
- Have a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Secretarial Studies or other relevant experience.
- Have at least one year’s experience in an administrative position.
- Fluency in English is required, as the incumbent will be interacting with our English-speaking clients.
- Demonstrate tact and discretion.
- Have team spirit and strong interpersonal skills.
- Successfully complete the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government’s Contract Security Program.
