Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for guiding and assisting the Production team. This includes working with their manager and Team Leads to set and achieve goals that work toward the corporate mandate. As well, this position is responsible for coordinating all production resources to meet the schedule targets for customers and for finished goods inventory requirements. The Production Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of all Production functions.

Duties Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Provide training, support and supervision to team members
  • Provide performance reviews for all team members in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work with the Team Lead on recruiting and training new team members
  • Work with other departments to ensure product is on a continual improvement scale
  • Ensure all safety precautions and guidelines are followed when working with hazardous materials, heavy loads, electrical circuits, equipment, etc.
  • Coordinate the movement of finished goods to shipping to meet delivery demands
  • Work with their supervisor and team to set and achieve production goals including scheduling resources in a manner that will achieve the required shipping goals
  • Work with the Manager, Process Sustaining Engineering to ensure resources are allocated in a timely and efficient manner
  • Follow builds on Production floor and interface/communicate with Planning/Scheduling with respect to build priorities and product information
  • Work with their team to constantly improve performance, productivity and quality
  • Work with teams to develop and implement ongoing employee development
  • Conform to Electrostatic Discharge Control (ESD)

Position Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years of prior experience as a supervisor; and
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing associate role (Technician or Operator) is preferred Required
  • Typically requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; and
  • Completion of basic management training
  • Proven knowledge of simple manufacturing tools such as capacity calculations, resource assignment and defect tracking
  • Working knowledge on how to create those basic tools is preferred
  • Proven knowledge of spreadsheet creation and formula usage (Microsoft Excel or Libre Office) is preferred
  • A working knowledge of conflict management and personnel development/coaching
