Your Opportunity:
The Medical Radiation Technologist II operates in one or more of the specialized, highly technical environments of Computerized Tomography and Angiography. The MRT II, under limited supervision, assesses patients, analyzes and interprets diagnostic data, and provides information to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management. These services are performed in an effective efficient and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call as assigned.
Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
CAMRT Continuing Education courses (i.e. CT course 1, 2 & 3) equivalent CT training course. CAMRT Continuing Education courses IR 1 & 2 course for applicable specialty) or equivalent IR training course. Previous experiences in appropriate imaging modality and a general knowledge of computers. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to cooperate. Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork. Perception, initiative, good judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Ability to work under pressure and in emergencies. Practices effective radiation protection. IV Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
CAMRT CTIC certificate preferred. Previous CT Experience. Previous IR experience.
