About the role
The Apprentice Technician is responsible for the company’s performance in terms of efficient effective and timely repairs and maintenance on the Bison Transport tractor fleet. The Tractor Apprentice is expected to be a team player in the Maintenance Department. They must be able to follow direction from the licensed technician to diagnose and repair recurring problems and effectively communicate these to other members of the Maintenance Team. Good communication skills and a professional attitude are basic requirements.
Qualifications:
- You are a registered Tractor or Trailer Apprentice with the Provincial Training Board – Level 3 or 4.
- Graduation from a recognized certificate program (ex. Truck and Transport Technician, Heavy Duty Technician), and the desire to obtain your Journeyman's certificate will be key to your success in this position.
- Experience working on tractor and trailer repairs.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers’ License.
- Must be self-motivated, and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated diagnosing and time‐management abilities
- May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs or less
Shift Schedules:
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Monday to Thursday, 16:00-02:30
