Supervisor of Design and Construction

Reporting to the Administrator of Design and Construction, the Supervisor of Design and Construction is responsible for the day-to-day management of a range of construction, renovation and infrastructure projects across multiple school sites within the Niagara region.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

• Collaborate with the Administrator of Design and Construction to develop project plans, timelines and budgets;

• Provide technical guidance and oversight to both internal and external stakeholders including school administration, contractors, architects, engineers and other partners to ensure efficient project delivery;

• Coordinate and supervise project activities including procurement, scheduling and resource allocation;

• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and proactively implement solutions;

• Facilitate meetings and presentations to gather feedback and ensure alignment with project objectives;

• Responsible for the management of project records and database, including as-built drawings, operations and maintenance manuals;

• Lead stakeholder engagement and oversee compliance with building codes and safety standards.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Degree or Diploma in Facilities/Construction or Project Management
• PMP preferred
• Three – five years experience in a similar leadership role
• Working knowledge of AUTOCAD
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite
• Strong understanding of construction principals, building codes and regulations
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven problem solving and decision making skills in a construction environment
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work effectively in a fast paced dynamic environment
• Proficiency in reading drawings and specifications

This is a full time, permanent position.

HOURS: 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
