Supervisor of Design and Construction

Reporting to the Administrator of Design and Construction, the Supervisor of Design and Construction is responsible for the day-to-day management of a range of construction, renovation and infrastructure projects across multiple school sites within the Niagara region.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
-
Collaborate with the Administrator of Design and Construction to develop project plans, timelines and budgets;
-
Provide technical guidance and oversight to both internal and external stakeholders including school administration, contractors, architects, engineers and other partners to ensure efficient project delivery;
-
Coordinate and supervise project activities including procurement, scheduling and resource allocation;
-
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and proactively implement solutions;
-
Facilitate meetings and presentations to gather feedback and ensure alignment with project objectives;
-
Responsible for the management of project records and database, including as-built drawings, operations and maintenance manuals;
-
Lead stakeholder engagement and oversee compliance with building codes and safety standards.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Degree or Diploma in Facilities/Construction or Project Management
- PMP preferred
- Three – five years experience in a similar leadership role
- Working knowledge of AUTOCAD
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Strong understanding of construction principals, building codes and regulations
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven problem solving and decision making skills in a construction environment
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work effectively in a fast paced dynamic environment
- Proficiency in reading drawings and specifications
This is a full time, permanent position.
HOURS: 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
