Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary Department / Research Program: Pediatrics / CHHD - MCH Diabetes Clinic

Under the supervision of Dr. von Oettingen, the incumbent will provide diabetes technology support to the MCH Diabetes Clinic, as part of the “DIY Looping” in type 1 diabetes quality improvement project.

General Duties Main Role And Responsibility Of The Incumbent Include

  • Identifies diabetes technology assistance needs,
  • Assists patients and families with diabetes technology meaningful use and interpretation,
  • Supports the onboarding and ongoing use of Do-It-Yourself Looping technology,
  • Collects clinical data, as well as patient information,
  • Conducts and/or verifies study questionnaires,
  • Performs data entry as required by the protocol,
  • Accomplishes administrative tasks as required (i.e. scheduling meetings, etc.),
  • Performs any other tasks as required by the immediate superior or delegate.

Education / Experience

Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study: Healthcare

Work Experience: six (6) months to one (1) year.

Professional Membership: ☐ Yes ☒ No

Required Skills

  • Bilingual French and English (spoken and written),
  • Ability to display a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information,
  • Medical terminology is an asset,
  • Diabetes technology experience is an asset,
  • Detail-oriented, autonomous,
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and management of web applications,
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional information

Status : Temporary Part-Time (12 hours per workweek)

Pay Scale : $19.22 to $28.82/hour Commensurate with education & work experience.

Work Shift : Variable Schedule: 12 hours per week, Tuesdays from 8.30am to 4pm, remainder of hours flexible Mon-Fri

Work Site : GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
