Located in the heart of Fraserhood, Osteria Savio Volpe is a lively neighbourhood osteria rooted in the spirit of traditional Italian cooking — rustic, honest, and made to be shared. Our menu features handmade pasta, wood-fired meats, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients, all served with a bold Italian wine list and the kind of warm, genuine hospitality that makes guests feel right at home.
As the original member of Banda Volpi — the acclaimed restaurant group behind Elio Volpe, La Tana, and Pepino’s Spaghetti House — Savio is part of a team recognized for creating some of Canada’s most well-regarded dining experiences. Banda Volpi (meaning “gang of foxes”) has earned a national reputation, celebrated for emphasizing thoughtful cuisine, warm hospitality, and exceptional service. The group has received numerous accolades, including Michelin recommendations, a variety of Vancouver Magazine awards, Gold at the Vancouver International Wine Festival, and placements on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants.
We’re seeking front-of-house team members who take genuine pride in creating thoughtful, memorable hospitality experiences. From greeting guests and guiding their visit to offering wine recommendations to setting the tone at the door, you’ll play a key role in shaping a service-driven environment built on care, collaboration, and attention to detail.

POSITION: LEAD HOST (FULL-TIME)
We are looking for a poised and confident Lead Host to join our team. If you’re passionate about hospitality, thrive in a high-volume, guest-facing environment, and are ready to lead by example, we’d love to hear from you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead the host team in delivering warm, gracious hospitality from the moment a guest makes a reservation to their departure
- Manage the pacing and flow of the dining room during service to ensure smooth, efficient, and thoughtful seating
- Oversee guest communications across all platforms (phone, email, in-person) with professionalism and clarity
- Train and support new hosts in floor management, service standards, and guest interaction
- Contribute to a calm, polished, and collaborative atmosphere on the floor
- Support the coordination of large party bookings and takeout program execution
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a front-of-house leadership or host position, ideally in a high-volume or upscale restaurant setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead with calm, confidence, and warmth under pressure
- Comfortable using reservation platforms (experience with SevenRooms or OpenTable a plus)
- A natural eye for detail and guest experience
- Passion for hospitality and an eagerness to grow within a leading restaurant group
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $19.00/hour + gratuities

AVAILABILITY
- Three to five shifts per week
- Must be available weekends (Saturday and Sunday)

Founded by prolific restaurateur & industry veteran Paul Grunberg and Ste Marie Studio principal & creative director Craig Stanghetta, Banda Volpi is the gang behind the farm-to-table Osteria Savio Volpe, red sauce joint Pepino’s Spaghetti House, old world alimentari and wine bar Caffè La Tana, and the upcoming Osteria Elio Volpe.
Folkloric neighbourhood spots one and all, each novel concept tells its own story while being firmly rooted in the Italian culinary tradition of simplicity and freshness, flavoured by way of the local materia prima – using groceries gathered in the nearby lakes, oceans, farms and fields. Above all else, Banda Volpi celebrates liveliness, warmth and hospitality – guests are welcomed like family and cared for like old friends. Talking, tasting, laughing, pouring wine, passing platters loaded with food and soaking up sauce with bread – this is the modus operandi of Banda Volpi, Italian slang for ‘gang of foxes'.
