We are excited to be recruiting for a Part-Time Hotel Room Attendant for our beautiful hotel in Portage la Prairie, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham.

Microtel Inn & Suites, managed by Sparrow Hotels and owned by Long Plain First Nation, is situated on the Keeshkeemaquah Reserve near Portage La Prairie. This 75-room hotel features complimentary breakfast, a pool with a waterslide, a hot tub, and a fitness center. It also offers meeting space for up to 60 guests and houses Kookums Korner & Market. Guests can enjoy scenic views of Crescent Lake and are conveniently located near the Keesh Gaming Centre and the National Indigenous Residential School Museum of Canada.

Hotel Room Attendants play a vital role in delivering a positive guest experience by ensuring rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Their primary responsibility is to uphold the hotel’s hygiene and presentation standards, creating a welcoming environment that exceeds guest expectations. Their attention to detail enhances guest satisfaction, leading to positive reviews, repeat business, and overall hotel success.

Duties:

Thoroughly clean and maintain assigned guest rooms according to hotel standards and training guidelines. This includes:

· Changing and replacing bed linens, pillowcases, and duvet covers.

· Vacuuming carpets, sweeping, and mopping floors.

· Dusting furniture, light fixtures, and other surfaces.

· Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, and mirrors.

· Wiping down and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces such as remote controls, doorknobs, and light switches.

· Ensuring a tidy and inviting room setup for the next guest.

· Restock and distribute guest amenities to maintain a fully equipped and comfortable space.

· Inspect rooms and report any issues to the appropriate department.

· Work collaboratively with the housekeeping team to ensure all rooms and common areas meet cleanliness standards.

· Perform additional tasks as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager to support overall hotel operations.

What you bring to the table:

· At least 1 Year of direct housekeeping experience in a hotel setting

· Positive and hardworking attitude

· Ability to effectively communicate with team members.

· Should be able to work in a team environment and individually.

· Must be available to work shifts during the day, on weekends and holidays
