As part of our Shared Services group, comprised of Finance, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Commercial, Legal and Facilities, we support the business achieve their goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. We ensure delivery of services through the skills of our people, methodologies, and systems.
Reporting to the Global Manager-Accounts Receivable, this position is responsible for the collection and reporting of accounts receivable. Working directly with the senior management, the candidate will be required to analyze receivables and make recommendations to improve process, reporting and collection. In addition, the candidate will be required to attend receivables meetings and report monthly results to the Global Manager-Accounts Receivable.
Responsibilities
- Monitor assigned accounts receivable aging reports/worklist and communicate with clients regarding payment terms, outstanding invoices, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
- Work with the project team to reconcile, invoice and collect receivables
- Identify billings and collections issues and provide recommendations on how to resolve the issues
- Work with the billing group to identify improvements to the billing process.
- Assist with month-end closing processes, including preparing reports and analysis related to accounts receivable
- Manage & set up 3rd party portals for client billing and collection.
- Attend and participate in receivables meetings
- Develop a plan to improve Days Sales Outstanding for assigned worklist
- Use SAP to record receivables and adjustments
- Handle ad hoc receivable queries, providing timely and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Update the Top 100 problem receivables report, maintaining accurate records and providing analysis as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to project managers and sponsors on project closure requests
- Responding to audit queries and assisting with audit requests as needed
- Other tasks as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5-year background in accounts receivable
- Accounting and project experience in an engineering company are an asset
- Expert SAP knowledge in both projects and receivables in an engineering environment
- Expert working knowledge of Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills (i.e. verbal and written)
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment and work as necessary to meet tight deadlines
- The candidate must be professional, discreet and detail orientated
- Strong problem-solving skills
- The candidate is a self-starter who can work independently
