Wage- $33/HR
ASAP Start Date- Until August 18 with Option of Extension

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:

Must be certified by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT)

Vulnerable Sector Check renewed within the year

Professional Liability Insurance MANDATORY
SKILLS & ABILITY:
-
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and cardiac charting information systems
-
Ability to think critically and multitask in a high-pressure environment
-
Ability to organize and manage laboratory workflows and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team; establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships, exercising judgment in specimen processing, analysis, and reporting according to standards

Behavior consistent with the clinic’s Standards of Performance
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Perform duties according to the Standards of Professional Practice set out by the respected Provincial Licensing Body and in compliance with the policies, procedures, and standards of the facility
-
Accept clinical responsibility and professional accountability for accurate and timely testing and reporting
-
Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, fulfilling responsibilities related to result processing and analysis
-
Comply with The Ethical Framework for Cardiac Technicians
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
-
Perform Electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs) : Recording the electrical activity of the heart.
-
Holter Monitoring : Setting up and removing portable ECG monitors that patients wear for 24–48 hours.
-
Event Monitoring : Similar to Holter but used for longer-term monitoring of heart rhythms.
-
Stress Testing (Exercise Treadmill Testing) : Assisting cardiologists during tests where patients walk on a treadmill to evaluate how the heart handles stress.
-
Calibrate and maintain diagnostic equipment.
-
Ensure machines are working properly and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
-
Set up and sterilize equipment used in testing.
-
Prepare patients for tests by explaining procedures clearly.
-
Attach electrodes or leads to appropriate areas of the patient’s body.
-
Monitor patients during testing and report any unusual symptoms or reactions to physicians.
-
Collect and compile test results for cardiologist review.
-
Ensure accuracy in test recordings and proper labeling of reports.
-
Maintain accurate patient records and logs.
-
Book appointments and ensure timely testing schedules.
-
Assist physicians and nurses during certain cardiac procedures.
-
Comply with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, including Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislation
