The Ministry of Corrections Policing and Public Safety is seeking a highly-skilled, confident and flexible role model to fill a Permanent Part-time Cook position with the Men's and Women's Reintegration Units. The Ministry is seeking those who will support a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individual in Saskatchewan, promotes safe and secure communities, and provides legal and justice policy advice to assist government.
The successful candidate will work in a team environment responsible for the operation of a modern commercial production line-oriented kitchen. You will provide leadership, instruction and guidance to a group of male and female offenders in all fields of the cooking trade including meal preparation and distribution. You will participate in developing meal plans and maintaining quality control. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of a kitchen that supports approximately 14/18 offenders and staff.
To be successful in this competition, you must have a professional cooking certificate and have experience in commercial large-scale cooking. A Food Safe Certificate is also required. You must have knowledge of Canada's Food Guide nutritional requirements of adults and the special dietary requirements of people with diabetes, lactose intolerance, food allergies and cholesterol as well as knowledge of food industry health, hygiene, and sanitation standards, regulations and guidelines.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be acquired through journeyperson's papers in Cooking or a Professional Cooking Certificate or equivalent with several years' experience in commercial or large-scale cooking.
