About the role

Job Summary The Commercial Credit Specialist (CCS) is responsible for managing the daily commercial portfolio operations activities (i.e. dealer inquiries/r equests, overseeing the wholesale inventory audits & collections) along with the associated credit risk of the Ducati portfolio and allocated group of commercial finance accounts considered low risk. R esponsibilities also consist of training and coaching the Department Intern (8-month rotation). The CCS is also required to create, update and share regular calendar reports to Management that facilitate thorough account management and risk mitigation for appropriate for portfolio risk management. The individual must be fully bilingual (English & French).

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute the daily Wholesale Operations activities: processing dealer loan & payment requests and processing Non-Audi/Volkswagen manufacturer invoice payments.
  • Handle all dealer specific inquiries received via telephone/email and provide answers/resolutions to ensure superior customer experience.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly & ad-hoc reports for Senior & Executive Management (Canada, US & AG) review of the commercial finance portfolio performance and identification of potential risk concerns.
  • Oversee the Ducati and Automotives commercial finance accounts by following-up for reception of the dealer monthly financial statements and perform the monthly financial statements adjustments in the Wholesale Management system (Crowe) to determine appropriate dealer risk score and to prepare the financial file for the Commercial Credit Analyst review.
  • Perform annual review for the Ducati and assigned portfolio of low risk wholesale/commercial accounts, by reconciling the year-end annual financial statements (audited/reviewed/compiled) to ensure the quality and accuracy of the dealership financial reporting. Analyze the capital structure of the borrower and evaluate the operating performance of the dealership to validate that all commercial finance requirements are met and ensure VW Credit Canada, Inc (VWFS) has appropriate securities in place.
  • Oversee the onboarding, supervision and training of the Departmental Intern, who is on an 8-month term. Responsibilities include teaching the Intern the daily tasks required to perform, increase tasks & responsibilities as level of comfort justifies it and oversee their work to ensure accuracy. Report to the Manager their progress and any concerns or issues.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on the Wholesale management system (Wi) functionalities. Be the VWFS’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) and first point of contact for the development and improvement of the Wholesale Management system. Work closely with U.S counterpart(s) and vendor to identify / correct any calculation deficiencies and provide business input for future product enhancements / functionality required that would be beneficial to all parties and improve Commercial Risk processes.
  • Resolve all inventory audit outstanding by reviewing audit results with the auditor(s) and clearing resolution in the Audit inventory system by ensuring the dealer is complying with audit & payments requirements and following up with them on their resolution. Manage relationship with the external audit service provider (Datascan) plus coordinate, schedule audits and address any identified issues directly with the provider.
  • Analyse and report potential risk trends identified in the inventory audits.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred

Desired:

  • MBA/MSc with concentration in Finance or Marketing

Required Experience:

  • 1-3 years financial statement analysis experience with 2 year automotive retail/wholesale related experience

Desired:

  • 3 years experience in the automotive (finance) industry or in a Financial Services Company or Major Lending Institution or experience in Accounting and/or Financial Analysis
