We are looking for an Ecommerce Shipping Specialist at our Edmonton branch. The E-commerce Shipping Specialist would be responsible to helping develop, implement, coordinate, and oversee the setup of our physical layout, procedural steps, training, and execution of outbound shipping to ecommerce customers. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to expand their experience in digital commerce and will support one of the fastest growing areas within SureWerx.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Using multiple WMS and Booking portals to process outbound shipments
- Vendor & Order portals as needed to process and trouble shoot as necessary
- Apply best-in-class digital principles to ensure orders are accurate and shipped on time since digital shipments can be different than traditional distributor purchases
- Learning and performing picking, packing, and shipping procedures
- Following and developing customer shipment standards when processing orders
- Planning and prioritizing workflow and processing of order volumes to maximize throughput and meet deadlines.
- Provide technical and training support to warehouse staff working on ecommerce orders
- Monitoring and communicating progress on ecommerce work volume.
- Troubleshooting and correcting issues/errors impacting the performance of the operations
- Communicating problems and challenges with the Operations and Corporate Ecommerce teams
- Developing Standards Operating Processes and Guidelines for the Ecommerce functions
- Participating in Ecommerce related meetings, emails, and calls
- Coordinate freight carriers related to ecommerce.
o Communicate stock discrepancies to operational leaders
Operational excellence – Productivity and quality
- Advise and support warehouse leadership in determining the required staff to support ecommerce on a daily, weekly, monthly basis in order to achieve targets and avoid late orders and backlog
- Maintain an organized efficient work area and order filing system, especially for direct shipments and large customers
- Inspect future orders to ensure they are accurate and vendor compliant.
- Investigate OSD and compliances issues with current and past orders.
Customer Experience
- High functioning written and verbal communication skills to ensure all internal and external customers are fully informed of all achievements and issues.
- Ensure all customer specific instructions are adhered to.
- Constant desire for constructive feedback on where improvements can make a positive difference.
General
- Adhere to all policies and procedures;
- Deliver training to all assigned employees and temporary staff working on ecommerce;
- Attend to customer requests, enquiries and concerns in a professional and prompt manner;
- Ensuring that all operating equipment is in good working order, safety checks are performed and documented and reporting any deficiencies to the Warehouse Manager immediately.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Load, unload and move products by hand or with basic material handling equipment;
- Operate a variety of equipment to unload and load and move products (sit down counterbalance, reach truck and order picker;
- Weigh products, wrap goods and pack and unpack products;
- Process incoming requisitions which includes picking, checking and packing orders;
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices and other documents;
- Shipment of orders;
- Restock bins;
- Maintain a safe and clean warehouse;
- Other duties and projects assigned as required.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 Years of warehouse experience preferably in the Ecommerce operation
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Experience with Amazon Portal and other booking Software
- Commerce Hub experience preferred.
- Past participation and/or leadership in safety programs.
- Experience with Puro, Loomis, UPS, FedEx, Courier, LTL, and container shipping considered an asset.
- Experience with WMS systems, RF scan, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Project, CI, and 5S experience is an asset.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Detail oriented.
- Professional and excellent customer service skills.
- A self-starter who takes initiative and sets good example for the warehouse staff.
- A team player who can give and take direction.
- Ability to give and follow instructions and policy.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Physically able to lift heavy shipments and products between 25 to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate industrial lift trucks, pallet jack, order picker and forklifts.
- Comfortable with ceiling height of 36 feet.
