About the role

Pacific Northwest Transportation Services (PNWTS) is the proud supplier of carbon-neutral transportation services for the cruise industry in Victoria, British Columbia. As the exclusive supplier of buses on behalf of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA), PNWTS provides motor coaches and double-decker buses for shore excursion tours and shuttle connections for cruise lines and is the sole provider of dispatch services on the Terminal. We are looking for an energetic and positive individual in our Gray Line/Sightseeing Victoria division during the season until September.

Wage: $22.00/hr plus commission

Job Description

Our Customer Service Sales Agents are situated at Gray Line kiosks around Victoria’s picturesque Inner Harbour, engaging visitors and locals alike as ambassadors for our beautiful city and Gray Line’s multiple tour services. We provide a variety of memorable sightseeing experiences and serve as an important conduit for visitors who want to explore all that Victoria has to offer. An ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and possess a can-do attitude.

Your Work Will Include:

  • Answering questions and selling tickets for Gray Line Tours
  • Verifying and redeeming voucher booked by third party providers
  • Welcoming quests onboard tours and providing general information about Victoria.
  • Performing an end of day by reconciling cash and machines payments.
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Dealing with customer concerns and compliance in a professional manner.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and be adaptable to different aspects of the job
  • Willing and able to work outside in various Victoria weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Strong sales capabilities
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Experience handling cash, maintaining a cash float and reconciling daily sales
  • Knowledge of Victoria and its local attractions is an asset, additional training will be provided
  • Tourism experience and other languages are an asset but not required
  • Class 5 Drivers License is an asset
