Investment Fund Oversight Senior

The Opportunity:
The Fund Treasurer’s Office represents the interests of investors, overseeing financial and operational matters that affect the funds and their investors. The Investment Fund Oversight Senior (Business Title: “Fund Treasury Analyst Senior”) main responsibilities include overseeing the operational integrity and accuracy of the passive currency overlay program (“passive hedging”) with our external sub-advisor; onboarding and ongoing support for the funds’ foreign exchange setup and accuracy in pricing/execution, overseeing the Custodian and various global middle office teams for trade related matters and derivatives from a setup/settlement. The Analyst will oversee certain oversight controls and/or review documentation ensuring third party services and deliverables are met and within established guidelines and service level agreements requirements. The Analyst will work closely with the, Managers and Directors in the continual assessment of the oversight model and provide feedback to enhance its overall effectiveness.
What You Will Do:

Provide oversight and support of FIC passive currency overlay program i.e. daily reviews of systematic hedge exposures, pre/post compliance checks and attribution monitoring, alongside vendor oversight including due diligence reviews and report publication to Fund Boards and senior management.

Maintain effective and positive relationships with the service delivery teams, sub-advisor and Custodian Bank.

Responsible for fund foreign exchange onboarding and setup, as well as monitoring Custodian and other middle office groups for timely and accurate foreign exchange, including troubleshooting incidents and errors.

Responsible for ownership of fund board policies, including assisting the manager in compiling board materials, metrics and renewing board policies.

Participate and represent the Fund Treasurer’s Office in various fund vendor relationship meetings - which extends to Fidelity related entities and Fund Custodian.

Act as Fund Treasurer's Office point of contact for other departments for various issues relating to the hedging and foreign exchange related matters.

Responsible for ensuring meaningful and timely communication of initiatives or findings to the attention of the FTO and impacted business partners

Provide operational expertise on several aspects of the fund launch process such as the role of foreign exchange setup.

Provide ongoing oversight of the derivatives and trade operations teams to ensure appropriate implementation for the FIC funds.

Support the preparation of scorecard materials on related oversight activities. Provide explanations and/or remediation plans for any metrics which fall below established thresholds.

Respond and provide direction to Fund Administrators on operational design or workflow matters.

Complete daily oversight checks with an eye for continuous improvement.

Provide coverage for the Treasury Managers relating to their day-to-day responsibilities.

Participate in ongoing due diligence of third-party service providers and provide support in the preparation of the questionnaire, meeting materials and the final summary reports to the various committees.

Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for external committees and boards.

Act as a backup in the absence of other analysts, performing coverage over the required oversight functions.
What We’re Looking For:
Education:
- University Degree, preferably with a focus on Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- 3-5 Years of experience in the financial industry required.
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian and global investment industry, including NI 81-102 and NI 81-106 required.
- Knowledge of fund accounting, pricing, custody and the operational aspects of investment funds including alternative investment funds required.
Specific Certifications:
- Accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent is an asset
- In possession of, or working toward (CFA) is an asset

- You are a highly driven professional with a keen eye for detail
- You are proactive and continuously assess your surroundings to identify issues and areas where modifications to existing processes might be recommended or required
- You are an exceptional communicator who excels at communicating difficult information in the simplest of terms possible
- You excel at presenting information to Senior Leaders and Boards/ Committees both orally and through written presentations
- You are a team player who is able to find common ground and find solutions that are in the best interest of Fidelity and our investors.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data using excel
- You are motivated by collaboration, process efficiency and commitment to excellence.
- Experience constructing control and effective oversight processes for new alternative products
- Experience using the Invest one accounting system
- Understand unit holders system and processes as it relates to fund accounting
