About the role

Department: I&V Graphic Editing

Location: Montreal, QC

Description The Freelance Graphic Editor is an expert in image editing. The Specialist is responsible for the quality assurance of product images and ensuring consistent workflow in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Key metrics for this role may include: image quality, productivity levels, and subscriber satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for image quality assurance by reviewing and approving images.
  • Validate image quality and data readability.
  • Validate image attributes are compliant.
  • Perform graphic edits and adjustments if required.
  • Understand Standard Operating Procedures and the workflow of the studio.
  • Retouch captured images using Photoshop ensuring a professional look and data legibility according to GS1 Canada standards.
  • Create composite label and NPIng images in Photoshop to ensure maximum image quality.
  • Upload images using the IVSM system to complete service or to proceed to the next production step.
  • Collaborate with peers, communicate and solve product imagery issues.
  • Communicate any reshoot requests and editing challenges using standard process and ensure fast resolution to meet daily deadlines, escalate issues to Senior team members for clarification.
  • Ensure timely completion of all images by volume targets while maintaining high image quality, so that deadlines are met.
  • Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
    • College diploma or degree in Graphic Design and/or Photography.
    • 2 to 3 years of previous experience in a high-volume commercial studio, photo post-production, especially on product images.
    • Experience with eCom images workflow and specifications.
    • Proven high level of proficiency in Photoshop in a professional environment.
    • Proven experience using colour and aesthetic correction on images.
    • Proven organizational skills, possessing a high level of attention to detail.
    • Strong time management skills with the proven ability to work under pressure with tight and changing deadlines.
    • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit suited for fast-paced, results-based environment requiring flexibility to ever-changing needs.
