The Role

Join the Kii Health team as a Staff Therapist, specializing in psychotherapy services and providing support through short-term virtual counseling modalities. Successful candidates will be available to receive counselling referrals and, may also participate in other clinical opportunities such as educational seminars, supporting delivery of critical incident stress debriefings and in-the-moment crisis responses. Additionally, Kii Health Staff Therapists may be trained in and deliver Therapist-Assisted Internet-Delivered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TAiCBT) as part of our innovative digital health program, also known as Guided CBT. Successful candidates must be enthusiastic, team players, technology driven, have positive attitudes, and possess strong counselling skills.

Reporting to the Clinical Lead, Staff Therapist(s) will work remotely, yet alongside national colleagues as Kii Health strives to create a supportive and collaborative environment across teams and provinces. Interest in also providing in-person counselling, based on location and access to clinical space, is an asset also.

What You Will Do

  • Provide video and telephonic counselling support under a short-term, solution-focused model for a diversity of adult clients. (Ability to also support children and adolescents or families is an asset). Includes being able to receive and accept counselling referrals on a timely basis, effectively provide client-centred care, and close cases within a reasonably timeframe. Ability to carry a full-case load is expected.
  • Customize treatment plans based on individual client needs and progress, while building and maintaining strong therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Offer single-session and/or crisis intervention and support for employees experiencing immediate distress.
  • Document client progress thoroughly and accurately through detailed documentation, including reports for 3rd party providers, as necessary.
  • Participate in case consultations to collaborate with peers and enhance treatment strategies, and weekly team meetings (as required).
  • Engage in ongoing in-house training (and external continuing education) to stay current with clinical knowledge and evidence-based practices.
  • Contribute to other clinical responsibilities as needed, including but not limited to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and client outreach efforts.
  • Openness to provide and/or be trained in delivering protocol-driven TAiCBT via a secure digital platform, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support company goals and operations.

Skills and QualificationsThe Skills and Experience That Would Make You a Great Fit for This Role

  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related field with a total of 5 years experience.
  • Registered with the relevant provincial regulatory body, with the authority to provide independent psychotherapy services (e.g., OCSWSSW, OPQ, BCCSW, CRPO).
  • Proof of active professional liability insurance and ability to provide two professional references.
  • Registered or willing to register to practice across multiple provinces.
  • Strong ability to assess client needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and track progress effectively using standardized outcome measures
  • Ability to engage clients proactively, foster motivation, and encourage active participation in their treatment plan.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Demonstrated capacity to build rapport and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills, capable of working independently (in a remote setting) while also being open to guidance and responsive to feedback as needed.
  • Comfortable using digital health platforms and secure online communication tools.
  • Skilled in maintaining accurate and comprehensive client records, including progress notes and outcome reports.
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently while adapting to the evolving needs of clients and/or the digital platform.
  • Collaborate with other clinical staff to enhance client care.
  • Able to embody the company’s mission and values through professionalism, a client-centered approach, and sound ethical judgment.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, evolving work environment with a proactive, hands-on attitude.

Preferred QualificationsWho You Are

  • Previous work experience providing short-term counselling, single-session support, crisis intervention, and workplace-related mental health issues
  • Previous work experiencing providing TAiCBT or similar online evidence-based psychotherapy
  • Bilingual; English and French (reading and writing) considered a strong asset
