About the role
Sander Geophysics (SGL) specializes in high-resolution airborne geophysical surveys for petroleum and mineral exploration, as well as geological and environmental mapping. The company carries out airborne gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic, and radiometric surveys, using fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. Our fleet includes C208 Caravans, DHC-6 Twin Otters, and AS350 helicopters.
SGL's head office and maintenance hangar are located at the International Airport in Ottawa, Canada. SGL is currently seeking an experienced Avionics Engineer to join its Aircraft Maintenance department based at the company's headquarters. The position is primarily a Monday to Friday schedule but does require the occasional travel to the field at locations around the world.
Responsibilities of the Position
- Maintain the company aircraft to a high standard in accordance with the ACA privileges as per the MCM and MPM
- Confer with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the aircraft are up to date and safe for flight
- Assist as required to ensure the timely completion of Company and Customer Regulatory Audits
- Understand, comply with and promote all company safety precautions and policies including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations
- Maintain a positive attitude toward personal and professional growth
- Work in Ottawa head office as well as at SGL field bases worldwide
Qualifications and Experience
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with an “E” license
- Experience on C208, DHC-6, or other GA aircraft a definite asset
- Garmin installation experience an asset, as we are a Garmin authorized dealer
- Willingness to travel internationally for occasional field work
- Knowledgeable understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations
- Valid passport and driver's license
- Ability to obtain Transport Canada restricted area pass
