The Inuvialuit Development Corporation (IDC) is a 100% Indigenous-owned, diversified investment and management holding company that has successfully cultivated a growth-oriented portfolio across various industries. IDC is one of Canada’s most successful Indigenous development corporations with significant holdings in Northern and Southern Canada. IDC’s Northern business subsidiaries that are the focus of this role include a retail store operation, a construction company, a hotel/restaurant, a camp services company, a regional airline, and a property management company. This group of companies generates about $70 million in annual revenues and employs about 150 people.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Controller, the Capital Projects Finance Manager provides financial oversight and strategic support for IRC’s growing portfolio of capital investments and infrastructure projects. This role leads budgeting, reporting, cost tracking, and financial governance processes for major projects across IRC’s subsidiaries and joint ventures. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and operational leaders, the Manager ensures robust financial planning, performance monitoring, and compliance with IRC’s investment goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, with a focus on capital projects, infrastructure, or construction.

CPA designation.

Strong understanding of project finance, capital budgeting, and cost control principles.

Proficient with financial systems and Excel-based modeling; experience with ERP systems is an asset.

Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary project teams and communicate financial insights effectively.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

Experience with ERP systems and project accounting software.

Knowledge of IFRS and ASPE related to capital projects and asset management.

Familiarity with procurement models (lump-sum, cost-plus, unit rate) and government funding arrangements.

Proven ability to create dashboards and financial performance tools for executive-level reporting.
