Title: BI - Techno-Functional Consultant
Location: Remote (with occasional on-site workshops if needed)
Contract: 4-week assessment (with extension potential)
About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Techno-Functional Consultant with a strong background in data analytics, business process automation, and energy systems — specifically within the energy generation and storage domain (e.g., compressed air, battery, renewables). The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand operations, assess digital maturity, and help define a roadmap for analytics, reporting, and intelligent automation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct discovery sessions with business, engineering, and IT stakeholders
- Map out current analytics, reporting, and operational data flows
- Identify key performance indicators and data gaps related to project performance, financials, operational optimization, and regulatory reporting
- Recommend tools and architectures for data platform design and automation
- Collaborate with domain SMEs to define business use cases, user stories, and reporting requirements
- Assess opportunities for automation and business process digitization across project, asset, and document management
- Deliver a concise 3–6 month roadmap aligned with operational goals
- Support in evaluating integration needs between ArcGIS, Procore, Primavera, PLM, and Office 365
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in business analysis, analytics, or solution architecture
- Strong background in energy, utilities, or renewable energy, especially energy storage technologies (e.g., BESS, A-CAES, solar+storage)
- Demonstrated experience working with project controls, asset management, or operational systems (Procore, Primavera, ArcGIS, etc.)
- Expertise in BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and data warehousing concepts
- Strong understanding of business process automation and digital transformation frameworks
- Ability to lead workshops, translate business needs into technical requirements, and deliver roadmaps
- Familiarity with compliance needs in the sector (e.g., NERC, SIP, ESG reporting) is a plus
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Certifications:
- CBIP, CBAP, or TOGAF (preferred but not mandatory)
- Azure Data Fundamentals, Power BI, or similar
