Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
- Source and purchase materials and services necessary for production while maintaining high quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast future demand to avoid overstock or shortages.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery, quality assurance, and competitive pricing.
- Analyze market trends and track material availability to anticipate price fluctuations or shortages.
- Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation in alignment with company policies.
- Review supplier contracts regularly to ensure compliance with agreed terms.
- Generate and present procurement reports to the Purchasing Manager, highlighting key metrics such as savings and supplier performance.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Sales and Inventory to support efficient operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in a purchasing or buyer role, preferably in the building materials or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of sourcing, supply chain, and procurement practices.
- Experience with ERP systems is an asset; knowledge of outdoor building materials is a plus.
- Proven negotiation skills with a record of securing cost-effective agreements with suppliers.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret data and make strategic purchasing decisions.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
