Job Description SOUTHLAND Transportation is currently seeking career-oriented Para-Transit Drivers to join our Specialized Transportation Services (STS) team! Drivers are responsible for safely transporting special needs customers on a daily basis and must be committed to providing superior service.
STS operates 365 days a year, which includes all holidays. This position provides full-time hours, 5 days per week in a 7 day period, including weekends; working an average of 8 hours per day across a 12 hour split shift. As this description depicts the typical requirements of the job, hours and requirements may vary dependent on customer needs.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license (Class 4 training provided)
- Clean drivers abstract
- Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check
- Strong knowledge of city roadways - must pass a city knowledge test
- Physical ability to push/pull wheelchairs up and down a ramp
- Experience working with special needs individuals is considered an asset
