About the role

In November 2022, Kolostat inc. and Krome merged to form a single entity with very complementary expertise. The offices are located in Laval, Montreal and Toronto, and the company carries out projects across Canada.

We are looking for candidates to fill the following position:

Controls Technician (Programmer)

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop, program and configure building control systems to meet specific customer needs.
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to design and implement effective building control solutions.
  • Perform tests and debugging to ensure the proper functioning of building control systems.
  • Make the graphic pages for web interfaces and others.
  • Ensure complete documentation of programs and configurations performed.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of building control systems.
  • Provide technical support to customers and solve problems related to building control systems.
  • Support and assistance to project managers.
  • Follow the technological developments in the field of building control and propose improvements to optimize performance.

Profile and skills we are looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' professional experience in building control systems programming.
  • Excellent knowledge of BASIC languages and/or logic blocks.
  • Proficiency in communication protocols commonly used in building control (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).
  • Thorough understanding of the operating principles of building control equipment such as sensors, actuators and controllers.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Bilingualism (French and English)
