The Opportunity
The Sector Management and Relations Branch is seeking a strategic and client-focused professional to join us in the role of Institutions Analyst. As a dedicated team, we fund and collaboratively support universities and associated colleges to fulfill their mission of teaching and learning, research and community engagement.
As an Institutions Analyst, you will support universities/colleges and the Ministry of Advanced Education by:
- Developing strong working relationships with post-secondary institutions;
- Leading initiatives to advance common goals and manage issues;
- Drafting briefing notes, correspondence, and Cabinet documents;
- Developing operating/capital budgets and funding letters for institutions;
- Reviewing quarterly and annual institution financial forecasts; and
- Drafting public policy and legislation.
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will be an experienced professional who is:
- Strategic and analytical to formulate public policy and manage issues;
- Articulate to lead initiatives, facilitate discussions and prepare written materials;
- Detail-oriented, organized and accurate to advance initiatives and manage priorities;
- Approachable, collaborative and client-service focused to build strong relationships; and
- Intuitive, independent and proactive to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a master’s degree (business, social science, public administration, or adult education) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
