The Residence is a premier and highly specialized facility focused on delivering world-class, medically based treatment for mental health, addiction and concurrent conditions in a private, highly personalized and luxurious residential setting. It is staffed by a dedicated team of nationally recognized medical and clinical experts including psychiatrists, physicians and psychologists with access to national experts in various mental health and addiction specialties at the Homewood Health Centre. All activities are focused on helping clients build the skills they need to achieve and sustain recovery.

Hours: Temporary 3 month assignment

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to obtain relevant psychosocial history
  • Provide individual psychotherapy to support client’s mental health and addiction recovery goals
  • Facilitate and support family involvement as part of the integrated treatment approach, including participation in family meetings
  • Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized psychotherapy treatment plans
  • Provide discharge recommendations as appropriate to referral sources
  • Responsible for facilitating weekly DBT and/or Unified Protocol (UP) groups
  • Responsible for managing and prioritizing individual caseload
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports as per OCSWSSW standards and referral expectations
  • Participate in program rounds and team meetings

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work
  • Registered and in good standing with The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health, substance use, and comorbid disorders
  • Experience facilitating DBT skills groups and/or Unified Protocol (UP) groups
  • Experience facilitating individual psychotherapy sessions using evidence-based modalities
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience supporting individuals in goal setting, discharge planning, and family involvement
  • Strong assessment, counselling, and crisis intervention skills
