Accounts Payable Coordinator

P&H Milling
P&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.
From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.

Your Role
As Accounts Payable Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing full cycle Accounts Payable for 3-4 locations as well as completing other accounting functions required by the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
Day to Day
- Coding & posting expenses in the system; ensuring proper approvals are in place
- Following-up on any coding & invoicing discrepancies
- Proper filing of all related paperwork
- Preparation of weekly cheque runs, electronic funds transfers & wire payments
- Promptly replying to all A/P inquiries (internal & external)
- Maintaining regular communication with A/P location contacts
- Monthly vendor statement clean-up
- Preparation of monthly A/P accruals
- Participating in Accounts Payable projects & process improvements
- Processing outgoing courier requests for the Finance Department
- Assisting with HST, GST, PST, Interim & Year-End Audits
- All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years working in a Clerical, Administrative or Accounting role
- Post-secondary education in Business or Accounting is a definite asset
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced team environment & meet important deadlines
- Exceptional time management & prioritization skills
- Detail-oriented and ability to handle a large volume of work accurately and efficiently
- Able to adapt to process changes & quickly learn new accounting systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
