Summary:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, and accepting daily direction from the Team Lead, the Motorized Sawyer is expected to achieve pre-determined product volume output and consistently meet established quality standards. To ensure this is accomplished it may be necessary for the Motorized Sawyer to carry out some duties in other areas of the Motorized department, or elsewhere in the Production or Shipping areas. A keen appreciation of teamwork, attention to detail, a cheerful disposition with the ability to remain calm and professional during periods of high pressure, and a positive outlook are also necessary to the success of this role. The Motorized Sawyer works closely with others in the Motorized department and interacts with employees from other areas. A proficient level of verbal communication and listening skills are required. As a key member of the production team, the incumbent is expected to consistently demonstrate, and encourage in others, the organization’s core corporate values.

Position Responsibilities:
(Include, but are not limited to, the following)
- Abide by all trained safety regulations for the role.
- Review all material used for defects as per quality specification training.
- Accurately record and communicate all scrap as a result of defective material.
- Review work order travelers and determine specifications of each unit ensuring all orders are produced as per the details reviewed.
- Ensure proper knowledge and ability of the Machine start up, calibration, cleaning and shut down.
- Perform unit production steps as per training to the work instruction.
- Maintain quality of each unit being produced by strictly adhering to the steps as outlined in the work instructions paying attention to critical quality steps.
- Collecting appropriate material matching traveler requirements.
- Performing internal and external quality checks as instructed.
- Label profiles correctly.
- Ensure cut accuracy by measuring and double-checking input.
- Report to the Team Lead any equipment defects or abnormalities as they occur.
- Meet production efficiency levels as indicated during training.
- Report production completions accurately daily.
- Complete washroom and lunchroom cleaning as per checklist and rotation schedule.
Position Requirements:
- Previous experience in machine operation or production and materials handling.
- Familiarity with the use of a computer and accurate data entry skills.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Physically capable of handling materials up to 25 feet long and up to 65 pounds in weight on a regular basis.
- Ability to maintain composure, and work accurately and quickly during sustained periods of high pressure.
- Meet or exceed product volumes as indicated by operational requirements.
- Comfortable in a team environment together with a keen understanding of team accomplishments.
- A genuine desire to provide customer service at the highest level.
- Ability to remain focused when completing very repetitive tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in dealing with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to operate automated and manual cutting equipment.
- Ability to use a tape measure.
