Position Overview:
Trillium Health Partners is seeking an experienced Project Lead to join its Capital Planning and Redevelopment portfolio. Reporting to the Director, ICT Planning & Harmonization, the Project Lead will be responsible for supporting the Trillium Healthworks Project at M-Site, known as The Future Home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital. Leveraging your experience in the building design and construction of health capital projects, the Project Lead will function as the main point of contact between the hospital and the construction company.
M Site project is a new acute hospital, delivered under the Design Build Finance Maintain (DBFM) model in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Infrastructure Ontario (IO). The new build will accommodate clinical and non-clinical support programs.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will act as one of the hospital’s key point of contact with the hospital and the construction company;
- Develop and manage the FFE and ICAT project plans aligned with the overall construction schedule.
- Ensure alignment with Ministry of Health and Infrastructure Ontario guidelines.
- Lead the procurement process for FFE, Not-in-Contract ICAT systems including RFP development, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with public procurement laws and hospital procurement policies.
- Lead the procurement process for FFE & ICAT, including RFP development, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with public procurement laws and hospital procurement policies.
- Oversee delivery, installation, and commissioning of FFE & ICAT items.
- Coordinate with construction and transition teams to ensure timely and safe installation.
- Manage punch lists and deficiency resolution.
- Lead quality control and assurance inspections on behalf of the hospital during construction, commissioning, and hand over phases;
- Coordinate plans with other agencies having jurisdiction, including but not limited to the hospital operations, exterior vendors and Infrastructure Ontario;
- Contribute to review and analysis of construction schedule, variations and consultants’ reports;
- Consult with enabling departments such as EHSW, IPAC, Support Services and others as required
- Support communication with project working groups that are integral to the success of the project;
- Engage and communicate with interested parties on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are met and understood;
- Support communication with project working groups that are integral to the success of the project; and
- Participate in the creation and delivery of innovative presentations and proposals to all levels of the organization, including senior management, Board of Directors and external audiences.
- Other duties assigned, as required to meet timelines and deliverables;
Skills & Qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma in architectural, engineering, construction management or relevant equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years experience working on large complex projects, preference given to health care projects.
- Direct experience with P3 delivery models in Ontario
- Extensive knowledge in the planning and design of health capital infrastructure
- Demonstrated insight into health care operations and pressures.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong conceptual skills; systems thinking and ability to deal with ambiguity.
- Superior analytical, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with a dynamic, professional team.
- Demonstrated, skilled people management and staff development with emphasis on coaching, mentoring and leadership.
- Competency in using Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel and Word, bluebeam.
- Working knowledge of infection prevention and controls in healthcare construction and renovations
Location:
We offer employees, in roles that are conducive to remote work, the flexibility and the right mix of remote and in-office work (approximately 80/20). Acknowledging that the primary workspace will be remote work from home, but there will be times when onsite presence is appropriate just as there will be times when onsite presence may not be possible.
The expectation is that remote work locations, as part of the Flex First program, will be in the employee’s place of residence, and adhere to all THP policies and procedures, with special consideration towards privacy.
