Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
The Senior Business Analyst collaborates with our HR and Labour Relations teams to assess and improve business processes, aligning them with Workday capabilities and strategic priorities. They drive cross-functional integration, support transformation efforts, and ensure solutions enhance efficiency, governance, and long-term organizational goals.
This will be a temporary, full-time position for a 6-to-9-month contract with a possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the development and standardization of Labour Relations (LR) processes in alignment with organizational and IT standards.
- Map and document LR processes using approved templates and methodologies.
- Develop user support materials, including training guides, for new LR tools and systems.
- Assist in the rollout and ongoing support of LR templates and tools across the organization.
- Manage and implement enhancements to the LR Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) repository.
- Configure Workday to meet union requirements and ensure compliance with CBAs.
- Lead the assessment, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday changes related to LR.
- Analyze collective agreements to assess vacation accrual, sick time, and other entitlements in Workday, with input from LR/Legal teams.
- Identify configuration gaps and collaborate with HR Technology to develop solutions, prioritizing standard approaches.
- Engage with LR teams, Compensation, and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to align configuration and support updates (e.g., wage schedules) tied to CBAs.
- Conduct end-to-end testing and coordinate rollout plans to sites, ensuring stakeholder awareness and engagement.
- Provide regular status updates and summaries to key stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Support collective bargaining efforts by conducting research and providing analytical support as requested by LR leadership.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

7 – 10 years' hands on experience performing business analyst functions in complex organizations

Demonstrated ability to document business processes, procedures, and requirements in a straightforward manner
-
Strong ability to evaluate current-state processes and design future-state improvements, using standard documentation methods.

Proficiency in creating test plans, executing test cases, and managing rollout activities.

Experience with Workday modules, especially related to time tracking, compensation, and absence management is an asset

Understanding of unionized environments and familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) and their operational implications is an asset

Pragmatic and able to simply communicate complex problems and solutions

Demonstrated ability to quickly build strong trust-based relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders

Proven ability to prioritize, schedule and perform work to meet deadlines and commitments, and work within a team environment
-
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives and timelines.
COMPENSATION:
The target hiring range for this position is $65 to $70 per hour.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $100,390.71 to $125,488.38 with a maximum of $150,586.06.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
