Position: Branch Manager– Kamloops
Hours: Monday to Friday 6:00 am - 3.00 pm start time
Position Overview:
Working independently with guidance from the Regional Operations Manager, as required, coordinates and directs the activities of drivers, supervisors and customer service staff to maintain service levels for direct-to-store and freight management activities. Responsibilities have considerable impact on the efficient operations, and may influence the organization’s long-term reputation and overall standing in the industry.
What will you do as a Branch Manager?
Manage customer requirements with available resources to minimize costs while meeting service expectations.
- Communicating daily with customers and providing written and verbal direction to staff to achieve a high level of service
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers
- Liaise with company staff in Kelowna, Richmond and Linehaul to execute service requirements.
Provide leadership and direction to employees ensuring effective policies, practices and performance.
- Oversee day to day activities monitoring performance and compliance
- Provide relief to the dispatch function when required
- Ensure adherence to Company Policies and Occupational Health & Safety Program requirements
- Ensure productivity and financial targets are met
Manage all controllable costs of facility.
- Monitor daily driver’s logs and maintain accurate records of equipment and labor costs and report
- Negotiate facility maintenance and service contracts and oversee vendor performance
What are we looking for?

Bachelor Degree or specialist certificate/diploma plus 2 to 3 years related experience, or at least 4 to 6 years related experience.

Excellent judgemental skills to choose from a variety of alternatives to best meet customers’ changing requirements
-
Creative problem-solving skills in order to find creative ways to ensure all customer load requirements are met on a daily basis

Verbal and written communication skills are required to interpret, advise, guide, influence and/or acquire resources

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word

Understanding of transportation regulations and familiarity with transport equipment specifications and applications
