Job Title: Project Coordinator
Reports to: Project Manager/Director, Airport Planning and Infrastructure
Type: Permanent, Full Time
Closing Date: June 30, 2025
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Manager and the Director of Airport Planning and Infrastructure - and supporting the entire infrastructure team - the Project Coordinator provides technical guidance, coordination, and engineering support for capital projects, maintenance activities, and airport operations while ensuring compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and codes.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervise and support airport capital projects and operations
- Coordinate the work of contractors, consultants, service providers, and internal staff
- Provide technical recommendations and support for operations, facility maintenance and project planning
- Produce designs for airport and civil infrastructure in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Interpret construction drawings and develop specifications for tender packages
- Prepare and manage schedules for project works
- Monitor works for compliance with regulations, laws, rules, specifications and procedures set forth by governing bodies
- Coordinate actions, schedule and communicate with internal and external parties.
- Conduct construction site inspections, work layout, and quantity measurements
- Collect and process survey data using robotic total station, level, GPS and Lidar
- Inspect and report on materials inventory
- Provide engineering assessments and maintain technical documentation
- Perform field and office duties as directed by project managers
- Coordinate underground utility locates for airport utility infrastructure
- Communicate effectively with project staff, contractors, consultants, and the public
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Requirements:
- Designation as Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T), with Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and a minimum of 5 years of experience; preference for Civil, Electrical, Municipal Engineering, or Geomatics Technology
- Knowledge of engineering design, quality control, and project management
- Experience in the heavy construction industry
- Understanding of civil infrastructure, pavements, and building systems
- Knowledge of standards, specifications, regulations, codes, and by-laws
- Knowledge of Transport Canada Aerodrome Standards (TP312), airport operations, and maintenance procedures is considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team setting
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and budgets with excellent time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced computer, mathematical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting and experience with municipal infrastructure design as well as advanced surveying skills with Total Station and GPS equipment is preferred
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in outdoor conditions periodically
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license
- A condition of employment is the ability to obtain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) and an airside vehicle operators permit (D-AVOP) with radio telephone operator’s restricted certificate (Aeronautical)
