About the role
Objective: The Design Review Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of submitted job sales orders; with the aim to reduce sales quality, improve installer success, streamline operations processes and ultimately provide a positive customer experience. This role is also responsible for the mentorship of fellow operations teammates and Sales Designers, as well as demonstrate a strong sense of leadership within the organization.
Relationships:
Reports to: Shared Operations Manager
Direct Reports: None
Internal: Store Managers, Designers, Shared Operations
External: Customers
Key Position Responsibilities:
File Management: Review and Approve or Reject newly submitted job files based on:
- Design Review process, including but not limited to:
- Layout functionality (overall effectiveness of the design).
- Ensuring all components were ordered correctly (checking for finished ends, hinging, appliance openings, etc.
- Ensuring the appropriate number of parts and pieces such as fillers, toe kicks, etc. have been ordered.
- Ensuring that the appropriate notes have been added to the job (delivery, installer, etc.).
- Ensure that all required documentation is complete, accurate and signed by client, (Proposal, terms and Conditions, waivers as required).
- Ensure payment or a PO has been received as required.
- Ensure that all required documentation has been uploaded into the order within InSight.
- Ensure that site measurements are complete and that finalized drawings, and the order has been updated as required.
- Paperwork Accuracy, including but not limited to:
- Ensuring that the submitted files meet the standardized format requirements.
- Proposals, terms and conditions, waivers
- Customer contacts
- Appliance specs.
- Maps and or Directions
- Custom Drawings
- Layouts and Elevations
- Legibility, etc.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Actively work with the Designers and the Ops Team to remove any variables between the Design and Installation processes.
- Help instill a culture of continuous improvement in the organization.
- Identify and facilitate ways to improve efficiency.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective processes exist.
- Ensure customer issues are tracked and reviewed for root causes (reviewing and reporting on quality issues, trends, or concerns).
- Ensure each location’s budget is referred to when making key decisions.
- Report on findings to the Director of Operations and the General Managers.
Key Technical Skill Requirements:
- Kitchen Design experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of 20/20 (preferred).
- Knowledge and understanding of Superior Cabinets’ product offerings (preferred).
- Knowledge of the construction industry.
- Knowledge and proficiency with Superior Cabinets’ inSight programs (preferred).
- Computer proficiency with programs such as Outlook, Excel, Power Point, etc.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
- Encourages and supports leadership and growth in others.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Organizational abilities.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Time management.
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with multiple deadlines.
- High degree of professionalism and passion for success.
- Displays service excellence in dealing with internal and external clients and partners.
Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Kitchen and Bath Industry.
- Additional education in construction/trades will be considered an asset.
- Project management experience will also be considered an asset.
