About the role
REAL-R is seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a law firm's real estate practice. This is a full-time position; however, we are open to part-time arrangements for the right candidate.
The real estate work includes:
- Residential and commercial sales and purchases
- Refinancing
- Construction mortgages
- Private transactions
- Experience with commercial mortgage transactions is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions in Alberta from open to close
- Prepare, review, and process documents using Unity and SPIN2
- Liaise effectively with clients, realtors, lenders, and other parties
- Conduct Land Title searches and analyze encumbrances
- Draft reporting letters to clients and lenders
- Manage a high volume of files and work accurately under time constraints
- Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate excellent client service
- Perform general administrative, file, and office management duties
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of real estate legal assistant experience in Alberta
- Proficient with Unity, SPIN2, Land Titles, MS Office (Word, Outlook), Adobe, and other conveyancing tools
- Advanced knowledge of real estate conveyancing procedures and legal terminology
- Strong organization, time management, and communication skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a small firm
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and client focus
- Experience with e-signature and digital document management preferred
