About the role

The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties in support of the health care team including processing physician orders and liaising with other departments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component. A course in Medical Terminology is required. Must have at least two to three years directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent Unit Clerk experience on an acute care unit required. Must have experience working with hospital based computer systems and programs. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain efficient while experiencing multiple interruptions. Must have the ability to prioritize unit needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent Unit Clerk experience working in the NICU is preferred. Recent experience working with inpatient Connect Care preferred.
