Purpose of your Position - Non Union
Classification Summary - Union
A Police Services Records Clerk provides general guidance and administrative assistance to internal and external clients. Responsible for the data entry, maintenance, storage, and retrieval of information within police database systems and hard copy files and provides coverage for other Police Services positions such as Police Services Watch Clerk and Police Services Clerk.
Duties - Union

Processes and responds to requests from RCMP members, authorized police agencies and the general public.

Responsible for accurate and timely entry, verification, maintenance of information into police databases.

Evaluates and then relays pertinent information to authorized personnel.

Creates files for dissemination and dispatching to police personnel.

Conducts file audits and ensures all information entered, accessed and relayed to others conforms to RCMP and Police Services standards and procedures.

Maintains a large onsite hard copy filing system, lifting and moving files when necessary.

Multi-tasks and prioritizes workload and manages timelines.

Performs general clerical administrative duties, prepares and types documents, courier packages, mail, correspondence, reports, presentations, minutes, invoices, and assists with training, etc. using various databases and computer applications.
