About the role
Summary of Responsibilities
Reports to the Manager of Informatics. Liaises with the Directors of Operations, the Chief Radiologists and Division Heads, MI Management and technical teams. Also stakeholders, both internal and external to Sunnybrook.
- Project coordination of the Medical Imaging Teams in order to support the existing systems and implementation of new infrastructure.
- Develops project plans for upgrades and new applications. Ensures projects stay on time and on budget
- Provides technical and clinical application support to the Medical Imaging Department
- Works with the Medical Imaging Informatics Team and Sunnybrook Corporate IT team where applicable to implement new hardware/software.
- Involved in user training (MRTs, Radiologists and clinical stakeholders) on new applications/upgrades to existing software versions and evaluation of imaging workflow processes to enhance patient outcomes and end user experience
- Maintains a good understanding of MI modality patient workflows in order to provide advanced support
- Creates an environment that attracts and retains highly motivated talent that can function both independently and as a high performing team.
- Maintain Quality Assurance of imaging information systems including but not limited to the core systems the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications Systems), RIS (Radiology Information System) as well as all integrated and supporting software that are used by not only the Medical Imaging department but those that are used by other departments.
- Supports the Informatics helpdesk by assisting end users to troubleshoot applications issues, PACS corrections, etc. in collaboration with PACS System Administrators
- Will play a key role in the implementation of the new HIS and RIS including integration with the existing Medical Imaging applications.
Qualifications/Skills
- Active Standing with CMRITO an asset
- Minimum 5 years’ recent experience in application implementation and training required
- Significant recent related clinical workflow knowledge and experience in Medical Imaging an asset
- Previous project management experience an asset
- Proven collaborative leadership and team building skills required
- Works well independently and in a team setting
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, problem solving, facilitation and strategic planning skills required
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, professional judgment and attendance required
