About the role

Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.

We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a CDE Specialist to join our Vancouver office and support digital project delivery on large public sector infrastructure programs. In this role, you will execute digital workflows, manage documents and models within a Common Data Environment (CDE), and ensure compliance with ISO standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have expertise in CDE platforms and digital construction workflows, with a focus on data accuracy, audit traceability, and providing support to project teams.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Bentley ProjectWise, SharePoint, or similar tools. You will execute design and document workflows, including submission, review, approval, and revisions, ensuring traceability and version control throughout the process. Additionally, you will upload, tag, and manage documents, drawings, and models in accordance with defined taxonomy, metadata, and naming conventions, while enforcing file naming conventions, folder structures, and metadata tagging aligned with ISO 19650 or BS EN 1192 standards.

You will collaborate closely with BIM teams to ensure that federated model uploads meet information requirements and align with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP). Maintaining a clean and compliant digital environment will be a key aspect of your role, as you assist with the coordination of Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDPs) and validate data drops to ensure Level of Detail (LOD) and Level of Information (LOI) compliance. You will also monitor and maintain workflows for transmittals, RFIs, submittals, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and digital approvals, coordinating with BIM and design teams to ensure models and data are properly uploaded and in compliance with ISO standards and project requirements.

Providing first-line support and training to internal staff, consultants, and contractors on platform use and information protocols will be an important part of your responsibilities. You will generate version histories, compliance logs, and reports as needed, while participating in process improvement and automation initiatives to optimize repetitive workflows using tools like Power Automate or native CDE automation features. Additionally, you will support digital automation efforts by leveraging templates, workflows, and pre-configured scripts or tools, and generate dashboards, status reports, and audit logs to ensure compliance, QA/QC, and visibility for stakeholders.

Finally, you will play a critical role in ensuring handover readiness by structuring digital asset data so that it is exportable in formats such as COBie or IFC, as required. Providing basic user support and troubleshooting for platform navigation and workflow steps will contribute to smooth project delivery, while your efforts in process optimization and digital efficiency will help drive innovation and excellence in Arcadis' digital project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3-7 years of experience in CDE operations or digital project delivery roles within engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors
  • Diploma or degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field is an asset
  • Proficiency with CDE platforms like ACC Cloud, ProjectWise, or SharePoint
  • Basic understanding of ISO 19650, BEP, MIDP, and public-sector audit readiness
  • Familiar with BIM file structures, federated model uploads, and drawing revision workflows
  • Experience in naming conventions, metadata structuring, and information management principles
  • Strong knowledge of digital document control, revision handling, and approval processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PDF tools (e.g., Bluebeam), and collaborative platforms
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and interacting with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience on public sector or major capital infrastructure programs is preferred; knowledge of COBie, IFC, or asset tagging workflows is a bonus
