Position : Child & Family Psychotherapist
Location : Second Nature – Ottawa (Forest-Connected Satellite Site)
Hours : Flexible part-time or contract
Start Date : As soon as possible
Compensation : Commensurate on experience
About the Role
Second Nature is growing, and we are looking for a warm, skilled Child Psychotherapist to bring neuro-affirming, trauma-informed care to families in and around Ottawa. This role involves offering in-person therapy in a nature-rich, child-led and neuro-affirming play space (and potentially school-based settings as well), with the support of the broader Second Nature team.
What You'll Do
- Provide child and family therapy rooted in co-regulation, play, and neurodivergent-affirming practice
- Offer sessions outdoors, in natural community settings, or at a partner site
- Collaborate with educators, OTs, and family support staff when appropriate
- Build therapeutic relationships that center safety, voice, and agency
Who You Are
- A licensed/registered therapist (RP, RSW, or equivalent) with experience supporting children and families
- Grounded in a neuro-affirming, attachment-based framework
- Confident working independently in a flexible, community-integrated role
- Excited to bring therapy outside the four walls of an office and into nature
Bonus if you…
- Are based in Ottawa or willing to travel to the area regularly
- Have experience supporting PDA, sensory processing differences, or complex needs
- Want to be part of expanding Second Nature’s vision across regions
