About the job
As a Senior Product Manager at IT Source, the role involves transforming the way government services are delivered. This position leads diverse I&IT projects that support various government priorities across the OPS. The work directly impacts the efficiency and effectiveness of public services, making a tangible difference in the lives of Ontarians.
Assignments will vary in length and location, offering the flexibility to work on different projects and with various ministry clients throughout the GTA and Oshawa. This variety ensures that the work remains engaging and challenging, allowing for the building of a broad range of experiences and expertise.
Work Arrangements: While the home base will be at 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto, or 33 King Street West, Oshawa, there will be opportunities to work at different ministry client sites across the GTA. Alternative work arrangements, including flexible hours, hybrid remote work, and compressed work weeks, are offered to help maintain a healthy work-life balance.
As part of our team, you will:
• collaborate daily with development and UX teams to build high-quality, iterative digital products, while understanding the needs of Ontarians and advocating for their needs by shaping and sharing a clear product vision
• balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, defining product direction while actively contributing to delivery, and lead products from concept to release, ensuring smooth operations and continuous product improvement
• champion user needs and keep them at the heart of every decision you make, fostering transparency and encouraging open communication across teams
• develop and maintain a product roadmap based on expert input, research, and data, while managing project risks (team, tech, business)
• build solid relationships with partners to understand users' needs, program goals, policies, and operational constraints, and continuously learn and experiment with new technologies and techniques alongside a high-performing, collaborative team
• inspire and motivate your team through compelling storytelling and clear, engaging communication

What you bring to the team
Product management expertise
You have proven experience in:
• developing and executing a product vision and strategy, leading multi-disciplinary teams through the product lifecycle, from concept to launch, using agile methodologies
• collaborating with teams to translate product vision into actionable backlogs and ensuring smooth, continuous delivery
• managing mature products by balancing technical debt with ongoing enhancements through iterative development
• applying project management principles, methodologies, and processes to guide successful project execution
• defining and tracking product objectives, goals, and metrics to support the delivery of large-scale initiatives, and leading change and risk management efforts, including the development and rollout of strategic plans and change initiatives
Project and digital expertise
You can:
• identify product opportunities by understanding the digital marketplace, platforms, technologies, and market trends, and lead and contribute to complex projects of varying sizes, ensuring alignment with project plans and best practices, while applying user-centered design methodologies
• prioritize generative user research and champion continuous user validation early and often throughout the product lifecycle, and translate insights from user research and analysis into improved user experiences
• anticipate and resolve project issues in collaboration with management and colleagues
• research and apply industry best practices, including security and accessibility by design, to support strategy development
• apply your knowledge of current web trends and standards including AODA, WCAG 2.0 AA, and FIPPA
Leadership skills
You can:
• lead research into best practices to establish and uphold high standards for products
• manage large-scale, high-impact projects and initiatives with a high degree of autonomy
• provide leadership and mentorship by training, supporting, and developing team members and colleagues
Analyzing and problem-solving skills
You can:
• develop program evaluation frameworks and conduct qualitative, quantitative, financial, and statistical analyses to assess the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, affordability, and sustainability of initiatives
• analyze the impact of corporate policy changes, technological innovations, and service initiatives to identify business process needs, gaps, risks, and opportunities
• investigate and assess complex information to identify key issues or risks, evaluate options, and recommend action plans to mitigate risks and resolve challenges
• source, analyze, and synthesize critical data and indicators to support senior management in strategic product and service planning
Communication skills
You can:
• participate in team discussions, make recommendations, and document/explain work, while building and maintaining working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting collaboration even when perspectives differ
