The Canadian Network for Statistical Training in Trials (CANSTAT; https://can-stat.ca/) is a pan-Canadian, multi-institutional and multidisciplinary training platform that will provide participants with the technical skills and practical experience needed to become leaders in their field and to ensure that clinical trials generate the highest-quality evidence to improve the health of Canadians. A CANSTAT fellow will be placed within the Innovative Methods in Paediatric Clinical Trials (IMPaCT) lab and the Child Health Evaluative Sciences (CHES) program at the Hospital for Sick Children, as a Clinical Research Project Coordinator (CRPC) . The IMPaCT lab, led by Dr. Anna Heath, aims to improve the conception, design and conduct of clinical trials through the development of novel statistical methodology, software, expertise and guidance. The IMPaCT lab is committed to creating an inclusive, diverse and equitable environment in which to undertake their research (https://lab.research.sickkids.ca/heath/edi-principles/).
This CRPC will be a trainee in the CANSTAT program with applications in the paediatric emergency department, for children with neurodevelopmental disorders and for patients with respiratory failure receiving care in intensive care.

- Trial design
- Create randomization schedules
- Sample size estimation and power analysis
- Statistical analysis plan development & execution
- Data management and analysis
- Trial Steering Committee operations
- Data Safety Monitoring Boards attendance
- Regulatory applications and processes
- Manuscript preparation
- Undertake the formal education component of the CANSTAT training programme
- Attend the annual meeting
Here's What You'll Need
- A masters in statistics, biostatistics or related field
- A previous acceptance into the CANSTAT program
- A completed graduate degree prior to September 2025
- Ability to function independently and collaborate within a team
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
