DESCRIPTION

Circle CRM Group is a team of professional archaeologists who share a common mission: to protect and promote understanding of historic resources. Through great teamwork and collaboration, we deliver consistent, quality historic resource services that exceed our client’s expectations.

We are hiring a GIS Specialist to join our team for a full time (40 hrs/week), 1 year contract position based out of our Calgary office. As a GIS Specialist with Circle, you will provide technical support, including spatial analysis, data management, and map production, for a range of development projects across Alberta, British Columbia, and beyond.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must Haves:

  • Degree or Diploma in Geographic Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of one year work experience in a GIS role
  • Proficiency with ESRI products (Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Assets:

  • A background in archaeology, environment, or forestry industries would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience conducting archaeological field work
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Previous experience with artifact cataloging and/or artifact photography

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create high quality map products for internal and reporting purposes
  • Management of field data
  • Conduct data analysis and validation
  • Develop web maps and field collection tools (ESRI Field Maps and Survey 123)
  • Assist with project administrative tasks
