Overview: We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and confident Controls Tester to join our Business Controls team. In this role, you will be instrumental in evaluating the effectiveness of key operational and regulatory controls across our Wealth and Personal Banking business. Your insights will directly support risk mitigation efforts and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Control Testing & Evaluation: Independently execute comprehensive testing of operational and regulatory controls to assess their design and effectiveness, in alignment with the established Control Framework.
- Reporting & Communication: Clearly document test plans, procedures, and outcomes. Prepare concise reports and dashboards to communicate findings to senior stakeholders and business leaders.
- Issue Identification & Remediation Support: Detect control weaknesses or gaps, collaborate with business partners to develop remediation plans, and track progress to ensure timely resolution.
- Risk Assessment Support: Contribute to the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process by validating control performance and identifying emerging risks.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with teams across the three lines of defense to ensure alignment on control expectations. Present findings in a professional, confident, and solution-oriented manner.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to enhance testing methodologies, tools, and templates. Support initiatives aimed at improving the overall control environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 4+ years in internal controls testing, audit, compliance, or operational risk within financial services.
- Knowledge: Understanding of retail and wealth banking operations, risk and control frameworks (e.g., COSO, SOX), and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools
